The JISC Common Repository Interfaces Group (CRIG) is sponsoring a Roadshow due to head out on July 12 for a 2 1/2 week, multi-city event called “CRIG Roadshow.” The event will feature developers who will be pitching and sharing on-the-spot ideas in hopes of convincing whoever is on hand to participate in expressing CRIG’s collaborative slogan: “The coolest thing to do with your data will be thought of by someone else.”
A repository “fringe” event will be coordinated with the well-known Edinburgh Festival Fringe to be held August 3-25, 2008 during the “Preview Week” of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Many of the festival’s two thousand comedy, theatre, music, opera and dance shows will be starting their month-long runs with tickets at half price. All repository researchers, managers, administrators and developers are invited to come and join in Edinburgh’s newest and entirely unofficial festival!

I am exploring implementing Fedora. I am able to attend “CRIG Roadshow” events, however I am unfamiliar with the JISC Common Repository Interfaces Group (CRIG).
Can you provide a link to a source explaining the relationship JISC CRIG with Fedora and JISC CRIG’s relevance to Fedora?
Thanks,
g
Hello,
Fedora Commons has no direct connection to the JISC Common Repository Interfaces Group (CRIG) other than some members of this group work with Fedora open source repository software. For example, developers who will be participating in CRIG Roadshow will be working with Fedora along with other solutions.
FYI here is an excerpt from the current issue of D-Lib Magazine about the JISC CRIG “Repository Challenge” held at OR08 in April (http://dlib.org/dlib/may08/morris/05morris.html):
