Come and join us!

Please come and join us on Thursday, March 8th for a Web seminar presented by the Journal of Chemical Education (JCE) and the Chemical Education Digital Library (ChemEd DL). The seminar is sponsored by the National Science Teachers Association (NSTA) and done in conjunction with the National Science Digital Library (NSDL). The seminar is titled: Chemistry Comes Alive! The seminar will expose 6-12 grade teachers to the resources of the JCE DLib and ChemEd DL using the Apple Fool JCE Classroom Activity (Nancy S. Gettys and Erica K. Jacobsen).

Attendees can expect to learn about the chemistry of taste and how to fool your taste buds into thinking you’re eating something you’re not. Hands on activities to do in the classroom will be presented. We will also introduce you to supplemental materials available on the JCE DLib to help you with your lessons. Using JMol you will explore
relevant flavor molecules. We will also look at some of the related videos available on the JCE website.

You can attend this seminar from anywhere in the country, all you need is a computer and an internet connection. Links to get the necessary software will be included in the confirmation email after you register.
